The Flanagan/Woodland Falcons will face off against the Amboy/LaMoille/Ohio at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Friday, Flanagan/Woodland faced South Beloit in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Flanagan/Woodland didn't even let South Beloit onto the board and left with a 52-0 win. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as Flanagan/Woodland just coasted through the last quarter.
Kesler Collins was his usual excellent self, rushing for 267 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 14.1 yards per carry. Flanagan/Woodland also got a significant boost from Payton Quaintance, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 80 yards.
Meanwhile, Amboy/LaMoille/Ohio put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Hiawatha 54-6 on the road.
Flanagan/Woodland's victory was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-2. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 41 points. As for Amboy/LaMoille/Ohio, their victory bumped their record up to 10-0.
