There's no place like home for the Hardaway Hawks, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. They blew past Brookstone 72-43 at home. That 72-43 margin sets a new team best for Hardaway this season.
Antonio Dortch continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 22 points along with five rebounds and four steals. The match was his third in a row with at least ten points. Mekhi Benton was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with six steals.
Brookstone's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Thomas Henderson, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds. Henderson scored a full 25.6% of Brookstone's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Fuller Jones, who scored six points.
The win got Hardaway back to even at 4-4. As for Brookstone, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hardaway will be home for the holidays to greet Harris County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Harris County is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 53.2 points per game. Brookstone will be home for the holidays to greet Glenwood at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Glenwood presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Brookstone in their respective states (Glenwood is ranked 153rd in Alabama, while Brookstone is ranked 333rd in Georgia).
