The Caston Comets will head out on the road to face off against the Knox Redskins at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Caston focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Saturday.
Last Saturday, it was a hard-fought match, but Caston had to settle for a 32-29 defeat against Frontier. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Caston in their matchups with Frontier: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite the defeat, Caston had strong showings from Caleb Stinson, who scored ten points along with five rebounds, and Grant Yadon, who scored four points along with three steals. The game was Stinson's fifth in a row with at least ten points.
Caston struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Knox had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They enjoyed a cozy 66-50 victory over Culver Community on Saturday.
Caston now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Knox, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Caston came up short against Knox in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, falling 53-47. Can Caston avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
