The Asheboro Hybrid Academy Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They suffered a rough 37-13 defeat at the hands of Millers Creek Christian. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Asheboro Hybrid Academy has scored all season.
Cam Layaou was his usual excellent self, scoring 25 points along with nine blocks and two steals for Millers Creek Christian. That makes it three consecutive games in which Layaou has scored at least a third of Millers Creek Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Ethan Childers, who scored eight points along with nine steals.
Asheboro Hybrid Academy now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Millers Creek Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Asheboro Hybrid Academy will take on Vandalia Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Millers Creek Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Victory Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
