The La Salle Academy Rams are taking a road trip to take on the East Providence Townies at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (La Salle Academy 3.5, East Providence 2.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
La Salle Academy is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Rhode Island's top teams: Bishop Hendricken, who was ranked first at the time (La Salle Academy was ranked fourth). The Rams walked away with an 11-7 victory over the Hawks on Friday. Winning may never get old, but the Rams sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

The team relied heavily on Jayce Bessette, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Angelo Fuscellaro was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.
La Salle Academy hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least three batters in four consecutive matches.
East Providence couldn't beat Coventry on Friday even though they stacked four runs on them in the first inning. The Townies fell just short of the Oakers by a score of 6-5. The Townies have struggled against the Oakers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.
Aidan Martins was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.
La Salle Academy's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-4. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for East Providence, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-6.
East Providence's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: La Salle Academy has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .431. It's a different story for East Providence, though, as they've only averaged .364. Will they be able to contain La Salle Academy's hitters?
La Salle Academy was able to grind out a solid win over East Providence in their previous meeting back in May of 2022, winning 5-1. Do the Rams have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Townies turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
