Chewelah have been homebodies their last two matches, but they are heading out on Friday. They will take on Davenport at 7:00 PM. Chewelah have bulldozed their previous four opponents, so Davenport might have their hands full.
Chewelah put the finishing touches on their 4th blowout victory of the season last Friday. They steamrollered Northwest Christian School 42-6. No one put up better numbers for Chewelah than junior Jake Jeanneret, who brought his A game into the match. He passed for 191 yards and 3 touchdowns. Jeanneret has now scored at least one touchdown in the past eight games.
Meanwhile, it was close but no cigar for Davenport as they fell 14-16 to Wilbur-Creston. Things were expected to be close, but in this case the state rankings mixed up the winning team.
Chewelah's win lifted them to 5-3 while Davenport's loss dropped them down to 2-6. We'll see if Chewelah can repeat their recent success or if Davenport bounce back and reverse their fortune.
