The McLaurin Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were beaten by Pisgah 69-24. McLaurin lost against Pisgah in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 61-45 score last time.
Pisgah was led to victory by Madysen Washington and Laylah Johnson. Washington dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten steals, while Johnson dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. The matchup was Washington's seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Christan Love, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.
McLaurin bumped their record down to 2-10 with that loss, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.8 points per game. As for Pisgah, their victory bumped their record up to 8-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McLaurin will be home for the holidays to greet Mize at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mize is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games. As for Pisgah, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Wesson at 6:00 p.m. on December 19th.
