The Southwestern Randolph Cougars were the 56-12 winner over the Trinity Bulldogs when they last played one another back in October of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Southwestern Randolph fell just short of Trinity by a score of 27-25.
Trinity got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jacob Hodges out in front who picked up 240 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Hodges' longest reception was for an incredible 85 yards. Another player making a difference was Dominic Payne, who rushed for 85 yards and a touchdown.
Southwestern Randolph's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Trinity, their victory bumped their record up to 5-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southwestern Randolph will square off against West Stokes at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Trinity, they will head out on the road to face off against Brevard at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Brevard will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.
