Grayville is 2-8 against Webber since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Grayville Bison will be playing at home against the Webber Trojans at 7:45 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Grayville came into Tuesday's matchup having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They skirted past North Clay/Clay City 82-79.
Grayville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ty'zae Rowland led the charge by scoring 34 points along with six rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Rowland has scored at least a third of Grayville's points. Another player making a difference was Jake Hosman, who scored 24 points.
Meanwhile, Webber had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.6 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Wednesday. They came out on top against Cisne by a score of 73-64. Given Webber's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 241st, while Cisne is ranked 539th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Grayville's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 15-13. As for Webber, they pushed their record up to 25-3 with that victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.
Grayville ended up a good deal behind Webber in their previous meeting back in January, losing 70-54. Will Grayville have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other basketball content.
