Lowell had already won ten in a row and they went ahead and made it 11 on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Haverhill Hillies by a score of 3-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in April.
Lowell got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the second set. The final score came out to 25-17, 31-34, 25-8, 25-19.
Despite the loss, Haverhill saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Peter Grillo had 30 assists and five digs. Grillo is on a roll when it comes to assists, as he's now posted 13 or more in each of the last seven games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Patrick Osgood, who had seven digs and two aces.
Lowell's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-1. As for Haverhill, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-9.
