The Northside Christian Mustangs will head out on the road to face off against the Zephyrhills Christian Academy Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, in a tight matchup that could have gone either way, Northside Christian made off with a 22-21 win over Indian Rocks Christian. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Northside Christian.
Northside Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Blake Van wormer out in front who threw for 174 yards and a touchdown. Zuri Watson was in the mix as well, providing Northside Christian with two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Zephyrhills Christian Academy entered their tilt with Maclay with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Zephyrhills Christian Academy walked away with a 14-7 victory over Maclay on Saturday.
Zephyrhills Christian Academy can attribute much of their success to Amarri Range, who picked up 115 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and Parker Stirnkorb, who threw for 260 yards and two touchdowns while completing 78.4% of his passes.
Northside Christian's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Zephyrhills Christian Academy, their victory was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 6-2.
Northside Christian beat Zephyrhills Christian Academy 34-22 when the teams last played back in October of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for Northside Christian since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
