Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail Division IV recap Sept. 26, 2012
Augusta moved up to 178 from 206 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail Division IV. The Orioles were able to make the jump by beating the Orioles 28-20.
Andale was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fourth to second in the league. The Indians vanquished Circle 62-6 earlier in the week.
Augusta's dynamic duo of Tristan Finch and Connor Hurst proved tough for Clearwater to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Finch threw for 299 yards and two touchdowns and Hurst had 127 yards receiving. A. Castillo helped Augusta's passing attack out by catching six balls for 118 yards.
Isaiah Franklin was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 148 yards on 12 carries as Collegiate fell to the Indians. Teammate Markus Phox added to the ground attack by rushing for 85 yards.
Collegiate's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Spartans feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Landon Root has thrown for 659 yards and 10 touchdowns this season, while Phox has 18 catches for 391 yards. Franklin leads the league in rushing with 482 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Clearwater takes on the Spartans. As it stands, Dirk Ankerholz's team is in third, while Collegiate is in first.
Andale led the league in scoring this week after putting up 62 points on the Thunderbirds.
