Chandler Prep was sadly handed a defeat on Thursday, but Dominic Steineke did his best to prevent it. Despite the loss, Steineke was still locked in as he struck out nine batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

Looking ahead, Steineke and Chandler Prep are taking a road trip to challenge St. Augustine Catholic at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.
