The Leadership Public Schools Richmond Pumas lost against the AIMS College Prep Golden Eagles back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Leadership Public Schools Richmond fell 54-47 to AIMS College Prep. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Leadership Public Schools Richmond in their matchups with AIMS College Prep: they've now lost four in a row.
Several Pumas players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Damien Carter, who scored 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Grisby, who scored 15 points.
AIMS College Prep was led to victory by Caleb Ketema and Nahom Solomon. Ketema scored 16 points along with two steals, while Solomon scored 15 points along with eight assists and seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ketema has scored all season. Isaac Abram was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Leadership Public Schools Richmond's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-4. As for AIMS College Prep, they pushed their record up to 12-4 with that victory, which was their 12th straight at home.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Leadership Public Schools Richmond won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Envision Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 19th. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Ghaith Omar and Grisby. As for AIMS College Prep, they will head out on the road to square off against Skyline at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (Skyline is ranked 645th, while AIMS College Prep is ranked 669th).
