Scappoose had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 13-run drubbing they dealt Seaside on Thursday. The Indians' pitcher stepped up to hand the Seagulls a 13-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won ten games by seven runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Ashlynn Komp, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Freeman, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Scappoose lost a few balls and finished the game with four home runs. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now launched at least two home runs in four consecutive matchups.

Scappoose's win bumped their record up to 14-1. As for Seaside, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 11 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season.

Scappoose will square off against South Umpqua at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Seaside will be paying especially close attention to the Indians' game: after the Indians face off against the Lancers, they'll take on Seaside again at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
