The team relied heavily on Kenzie Weidman, who fired off two home runs, seven RBI, and three runs while going 4-for-4. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Haley Miller, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI.
Harvest Christian Academy hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Meanwhile, Larkin came up short against West Chicago on Thursday, falling 12-6. The Royals haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.
Kenya Ventura was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Ali Herrick, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Larkin's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Harvest Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 6-7.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal.
