The South Garner Titans pushed their score all the way to 31 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 45-31 bruising from Pinecrest. While losing is never fun, South Garner can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 107th, while Pinecrest is ranked 35th).
Jaylin Morgan was the offensive standout of the contest as he rushed for 33 yards and two touchdowns.
South Garner's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 5-6. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 15.3 points per game. As for Pinecrest, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.
South Garner does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Pinecrest will head out on the road to face off against Clayton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Clayton has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 228 points over their last five contests.
