Baseball Recap: Moore Haven Comes Up Short

Moore Haven was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Glades Central Raiders. The Terriers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Raiders earlier this season, when they won 11-10.

THAD JOHNS put in work while hitting and pitching. He pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. JOHNS was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Kenneth Simmons made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. GRISHAM PALADINO also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Moore Haven now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Glades Central, their victory ended an 11-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-7.

Looking ahead, Moore Haven will host First Baptist Academy at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Moore Haven is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.6 runs per game this season. As for Glades Central, they are taking a road trip to square off against Berean Christian at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
