The Jay Royals's game last Thursday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They blew past Central 65-39. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Jay has posted since December 12, 2023.
Ethan Mcdonald was his usual excellent self, scoring 26 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Jay's points. Another player making a difference was Tanner Mandell, who scored seven points along with 11 rebounds and three steals.
Despite the loss, Central saw an underclassman step up: Carson Baxley scored 14 points along with two steals. Baxley is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaden Ellison, who scored 11 points.
Jay's win was their 13th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-7. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.0 points per game. As for Central, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jay will take on South Walton at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Central, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Calvary Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
