The West Ottawa Panthers will head out on the road to challenge the Caledonia Fighting Scots at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. West Ottawa knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five games -- so hopefully Caledonia likes a good challenge.
West Ottawa pushed their score all the way to 59 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a hard 76-59 fall against Rockford. West Ottawa has struggled against Rockford recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Caledonia suffered their biggest loss since December 1, 2023 on Tuesday. They were the victim of a rough 68-46 defeat at the hands of East Kentwood. Caledonia has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Kyan Vanderwoude, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds. His trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaiden Googins, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds.
West Ottawa has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. Caledonia's record now sits at 6-6.
West Ottawa didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Caledonia when the teams last played back in February of 2023, but they still walked away with a 65-61 win.
