There's no place like home for the North Polars, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They snuck past Two Rivers with a 49-45 victory on Tuesday. The win was all the more spectacular given North's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 344th, while Two Rivers is ranked 120th).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead North to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lucy Walker, who scored 17 points along with nine rebounds and four steals. That's the first time this season that Walker pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Maddy Anthony, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 17 rebounds.
North's win ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-9. As for Two Rivers, their loss dropped their record down to 9-4.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Hill-Murray the next time they take the court. Two Rivers will host Hill-Murray at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while North will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on January 17th.
