Mardela has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Snow Hill Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Mardela comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 20 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 73-10, which was the final score in Mardela's tilt against Parkside on Tuesday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Mardela in their matchups with Parkside: they've now lost eight in a row.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 55 points the game before, Snow Hill were a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a rough 67-23 loss at the hands of Wicomico. While losing is never fun, Snow Hill can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 127th, while Wicomico is ranked 41st).
Mardela's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Snow Hill, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-4.
Mardela was dealt a bruising 44-9 loss at the hands of Snow Hill in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Can Mardela avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
