Softball Recap: Mildred Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses at Home

Mildred won the last time they faced Cayuga and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Mildred Eagles were the clear victor by a 15-1 margin over the Cayuga Wildcats.

Claire Spruce was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. That's the fewest earned runs she has allowed since back in February. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Those RBI were her first of the season.

In other batting news, Mildred got a massive performance out of KK Jenkins, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three runs gave Jenkins a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Parker Kittrell, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and one double.

Mildred always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Mildred's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-7. As for Cayuga, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Mildred beat Cayuga by a score of 15-1 later that day.
