The Christ Prep Academy Patriots had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 59-49 victory over Ozanam on Saturday. That's another feather in the cap for Christ Prep Academy, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
When it comes to explaining why Ozanam lost, one person who can't be blamed is Talan Olmstead. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 26 points and 17 rebounds. The contest was Olmstead's 11th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of A.W. Poke, who scored 13 points.
Even though they lost, Ozanam were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Christ Prep Academy's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-5. As for Ozanam, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Christ Prep Academy will challenge Kansas City East Christian Academy at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Ozanam, they will head out on the road to face off against Frontier School of Excellence at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Frontier School of Excellence's defense has only allowed 27.8 points per game this season, so Ozanam's offense will have their work cut out for Ozanam.
