Malakoff is a perfect 3-0 against Quitman since March of 2025 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Tigers will head out to square off against the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Malakoff has three straight victories, Quitman has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Malakoff had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt Eustace on Tuesday. The Tigers put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 8-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won ten contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Not much got past Alabama Anding, who gave up just two hits and racked up 14 Ks to keep Eustace off the board. With that strong performance, Anding is now averaging an impressive 5.3 strikeouts per game.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kenna Bivins, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Brooklee Hayes was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Quitman started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Mineola. They lost 11-3 to the Yellowjackets on Tuesday.
Quitman's loss dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Malakoff, their victory bumped their record up to 16-7.
Quitman's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Thursday. Malakoff has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.8 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Quitman, though, as they've been averaging only 1.9 strikeouts. Will Malakoff keep running through batters, or will the Bulldogs buck the trend?
Malakoff got the 'W' when the teams last played back in March against Quitman by a conclusive 19-3 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
