South View has gone a perfect 4-0 against Westover recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. After each having a week off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:00 p.m. South View will be strutting in after a win while Westover will be coming in after a loss.
South View took a loss when they played away from home on September 12th, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed last Friday. They strolled past Overhills with points to spare, taking the game 42-23. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Cristian Simmons had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 200 yards and two TDs. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 102.8 rushing yards per game.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: South View was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 268 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 150 rushing yards in three consecutive matchups.
Another reason for the win was South View's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. In that department, Brendan Jones was the leader with two. He also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with 14. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Westover played a tough contest last Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against Terry Sanford, falling 56-29. The Wolverines have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
South View will have to contain Latrell Allen as he made an impact in Westover's last game. He rushed for 210 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 11 carries, and also picked up 58 receiving yards and one score. Allen really tore up the turf during one magnificent 98-yard run.
Westover's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for South View, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.
Friday's game will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Simmons and Allen. Simmons just won't slow down this season and has run in 5 touchdowns while averaging 102.8 rushing yards per game. Allen has been a dominant force too and has run in 6 touchdowns while averaging 103.8 rushing yards per game.
Everything came up roses for South View against Westover in their previous matchup back in March of 2021, as the team secured a 43-8 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
