After flying high against Kirksville on Thursday, Moberly came back down to earth. The Spartans fell just short of the Marshall Owls by a score of 4-3 on Monday. Moberly's defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Moberly's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 13-4. As for Marshall, they now have a winning record of 9-8.

Coming up, Moberly will face off against Hannibal at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Marshall, they will challenge Odessa at 6:40 p.m. on Tuesday.
