The Freeman Mavericks lost against the Monacan Chiefs back in January of 2020, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Freeman took a 63-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of Monacan.
Samuel Sims was the offensive standout of the match as he scored 30 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Monacan's points. Another player making a difference was Amare Cooper, who scored 20 points.
Freeman's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Monacan, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Freeman will take on Thomas Jefferson at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Monacan, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Steward at 7:30 p.m.
