After two games on the road, Monessen is heading back home. They will finish 2023 at home by hosting Propel Braddock Hills at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Monessen's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matchups.
Last Thursday, Monessen didn't have too much trouble with Westinghouse on the road as they won 65-46.
Meanwhile, Propel Braddock Hills came up short against Riverview on Friday and fell 60-51. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Propel Braddock Hills in their matchups with Riverview: they've now lost six in a row.
Despite their loss, Propel Braddock Hills saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Kato Hill, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Hill also posted two blocks for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jarell Santiago , who scored ten points along with seven rebounds.
Even though they lost, Propel Braddock Hills were working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Monessen's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Propel Braddock Hills, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.
Monessen was able to grind out a solid win over Propel Braddock Hills when the teams last played back in December of 2022, winning 60-49. Will Monessen repeat their success, or does Propel Braddock Hills have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
