After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Black River, Wellington was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They put the hurt on the Brookside Cardinals with a sharp 9-3 victory. The result was nothing new for the Dukes, who have now won four matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Wellington's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-6. As for Brookside, they dropped their record down to 3-9 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Wellington didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 11-0 victory against Clearview on the 22nd. As for Brookside, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 14-3 defeat against Black River on the 22nd.
