Softball Recap: Wautoma Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses at Home

Wautoma barely beat Nekoosa the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Hornets' pitchers stepped up to hand the Papermakers an 8-0 shutout on Thursday. Considering the Hornets have won nine contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Wautoma's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 13-10. As for Nekoosa, they dropped their record down to 5-6 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Wautoma will challenge Mauston at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Nekoosa, they will take on Port Edwards at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Blackhawks have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.4 runs per game on average), something the Papermakers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
