The Panther Valley Panthers were the 61-59 winner over the Lehighton Indians when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Panther Valley took a 68-53 bruising from Lehighton on Thursday.
Panther Valley's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chase Weaver, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and six assists. Another player making a difference was Logan Fisher, who scored 13 points.
Panther Valley's loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Lehighton, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Panther Valley will take on Jim Thorpe at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Jim Thorpe is hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses. As for Lehighton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Blue Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Blue Mountain presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Lehighton in Pennsylvania (Blue Mountain is ranked 109th, while Lehighton is ranked 313th).
