Cook (Adel, Ga.) put up six points in the fourth quarter in Saturday's game to seal their 37-13 victory over
Dougherty (Albany, Ga.).
After taking the lead on a touchdown pass by
Connor Hilliard to
Jeremy Walden in the first quarter, the Hornets were up 31-7 at the half.
Cook saw its 24-point halftime lead fall to 18 entering the fourth.
The victory was a step in the right direction for CHS, which was coming off a 20-14 defeat at the hands of Crisp County in its previous game. The defeat comes as a step back for Dougherty, who notched a 56-28 victory over Westside in its previous outing.
