Daphne had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past the Foley Lions 15-0 on Monday. The Trojans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 20 games by six runs or more this season.
Campbell Hicks looked comfortable as she pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Kylie Stokes was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Dasia Matt, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and one stolen base.
The victory (which was Daphne's third in a row) raised their record to 34-6. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Foley, they dropped their record down to 7-17 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Daphne wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 13-0 victory against Fairhope on the 28th. Foley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
