Having just played yesterday, the Tri-State Christian Crusaders will jump right back in to play the Elkton Golden Elks at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
On Wednesday, Tri-State Christian came up short against Rising Sun and fell 51-40. While losing is never fun, Tri-State Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 129th, while Rising Sun is ranked 18th).
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Elkton, who are still winless after their sixth matchup. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 55-32 walloping at the hands of Greater Grace Christian Academy on Wednesday. That's two games in a row now that Elkton has lost by exactly 23 points.
Despite their loss, Elkton saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Solmaris Diaz-Lugo, who scored six points, was perhaps the best of all. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Diaz-Lugo has scored all season.
This is the second loss in a row for Tri-State Christian and nudges their season record down to 2-3. As for Elkton, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.
Tri-State Christian was taken down by Elkton 71-34 in their previous matchup back in December of 2017. The matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Tri-State Christian was down 40-17.
