On Monday, The First Academy beat Central Florida Christian Academy 57-47. The victory made it back-to-back wins for The First Academy.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead The First Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Luke Mayberry, who scored 14 points. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Max Simmons, who scored 14 points.
Central Florida Christian Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Justin Brigham, who scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Marko Pandiloski, who scored 15 points.
Even though they lost, Central Florida Christian Academy were working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as The First Academy only racked up eight assists.
The victory got The First Academy back to even at 3-3. As for Central Florida Christian Academy, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. The First Academy won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Trinity Prep at 7:00 p.m. on December 12th. As for Central Florida Christian Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Foundation Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Foundation Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Tuesday.
