Baseball Recap: Hamilton Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Hamilton, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. Everything went their way against the Oglesby Tigers on Tuesday as the Hamilton Bulldogs made off with a 13-3 win. Considering the Bulldogs' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Grant Bauman was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. Bauman was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mason Tubbs, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March of 2024. Isaac Wood was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.

Hamilton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .676. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Oglesby only posted an OBP of .304.

The victory got Hamilton back to even at 2-2. As for Oglesby, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 0-3.

Hamilton didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 11-4 loss against Rio Vista on the 27th. As for Oglesby, they will be taking part in a tournament against Coleman at 10:40 a.m. on Friday. Coleman will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Oglesby surely won't give up without a fight.
