With a playoff win on the line, Avalon rose to the challenge on Saturday. They never let the Miller Grove Hornets get on the board and left with a 13-0 win. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by six runs or more this season.

Shawn McEwen was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Avalon's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 6-9-1 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of John De La Garza, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Avalon always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .676. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Miller Grove only posted an OBP of .300.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Avalon, bringing their record up to 11-9-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Miller Grove, they dropped their record down to 4-14 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

As of now, neither Avalon nor the Hornets have any future games scheduled.
