Clinton is a perfect 3-0 against Onsted since June of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Redwolves will welcome the Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. Clinton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.
On Thursday, Clinton came up short against Chelsea and fell 7-3. The Redwolves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Clinton saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Calli Kruger, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Onsted narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Sand Creek 9-7.
Megan Hunt spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and five unearned) runs on seven hits.
On the hitting side, Hannah Hill was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Ashlynn Wilson was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Onsted's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-6. As for Clinton, their loss dropped their record down to 7-5.
Onsted's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Clinton hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .376. It's a different story for Onsted, though, as they've only averaged .237. Will they be able to contain Clinton's hitters?
Clinton took their win against Onsted in their previous meeting back in May of 2023 by a conclusive 16-0 score. Do the Redwolves have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wildcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
