If the Van Horn Falcons were riding high off their 73-34 takedown of the Odessa Bulldogs last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Van Horn had to suffer through a rough 54-23 loss at the hands of the Eagles. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Van Horn has scored all season.
Summit Christian Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Mike Thomas iii out in front who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds. Thomas iii is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Max Rieger, who scored 13 points along with three steals.
Van Horn's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-15. As for Summit Christian Academy, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 19-6.
Van Horn will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Gryphons at 7:00 p.m. As for Summit Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to take on the Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Missouri (Barstow is ranked 98th, while the Eagles are ranked 88th).
