The Carver Yellowjackets were the 72-65 winner over the Winston-Salem Prep Phoenix when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Carver fell to Winston-Salem Prep 54-48. Carver has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Several Yellowjackets players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kejuan Bruton, who scored ten points along with six rebounds. Quinton Stone was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with two steals.
Winston-Salem Prep got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Amaire Fasion out in front who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Fasion has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jace Covington, who scored 18 points along with three steals.
Carver's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Winston-Salem Prep, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-10.
Carver will head out on the road to challenge Triad Math and Science Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Winston-Salem Prep, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Millennium at 6:00 p.m. Millennium is hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses.
