Benton has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 23 points or more this season. They claimed a resounding 81-53 victory over White Hall at home. Given Benton's advantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked ninth, while White Hall is ranked 45th), the result on Thursday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, McDonough waltzed into their contest Saturday with two straight wins but they left with three. They enjoyed a cozy 74-57 win over Pope.
McDonough got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Keenan Gray out in front who scored 19 points. The game was Gray's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Nigel Thomas, who scored 16 points.
Benton is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-2 record this season. As for McDonough, their victory bumped their record up to 10-1.
