The Pine Forest Trojans were the 55-40 winner over the Jack Britt Buccaneers when they last played one another back in November of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Pine Forest fell to Jack Britt 47-41.
Several Trojans players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Dwayne Johnson, who scored 14 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals. Johnson scored a full 34.1% of Pine Forest's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Tristan Lyons was another key contributor, scoring 8 points along with 8 rebounds.
Leading Jack Britt to victory were Jayvien Richardson and Ryan Lord. Richardson scored 13 points along with 5 rebounds, while Lord scored 13 points along with 5 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Deryian Mitchell, who scored 9 points.
Pine Forest now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Jack Britt, their victory bumped their record up to 1-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pine Forest will take on Westover at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Jack Britt, they will be playing at home against E.E. Smith at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully E.E. Smith focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 last Tuesday.
