In what's become a running theme this season, the Sterling Classical Soldiers gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They blew past St. Mary 60-21 at home. That 39 points margin sets a new team best for Sterling Classical this season.
Sterling Classical's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ely McClung led the charge by scoring 17 points. Another player making a difference was Max McDonald, who scored ten points.
St. Mary's loss came despite strong showings from Tyler Zimmerhanzel and Gage Garsee. Zimmerhanzel scored ten points, while Garsee scored six points.
Sterling Classical has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. As for St. Mary's, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-3.

St. Mary's will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Memorial Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Memorial Christian Academy has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 18.
