Indianapolis Lutheran is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 17-4 margin over Indiana School for the Deaf. The Saints might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 15 matchups by six runs or more this season.
Lilly Schultz and Gracie Boggs made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Schultz pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Boggs pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Schultz has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up a single earned run in six consecutive appearances. At bat, Schultz went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Boggs went 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI Boggs has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Leyla Miller was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Langston, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with four runs and two RBI.
Indianapolis Lutheran always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .676. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Indiana School for the Deaf only posted an OBP of .348.
Meanwhile, Tri had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.9 runs) and they went ahead and made it eight on Tuesday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Indians.
Macey Ballard spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up seven Ks.
On the hitting side, Tri's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Faith McCrobie, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run.
Indianapolis Lutheran's record is now 20-6. As for Tri, their record now sits at 22-5.
Saturday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Indianapolis Lutheran hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .324. However, it's not like Tri struggles in that department as they've averaged .350. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
