Millard North faced Creighton Prep in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Mustangs came out on top in a nail-biter against the Junior Jays, sneaking past 6-4. This was a revenge game for the Mustangs: when they faced off against the Junior Jays on Tuesday, they had to take a 8-3 loss.

Millard North got a great performance from Wade Spencer as he tossed six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Caden Shafer, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Ripken Fleck, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Millard North's record now sits at 16-9. As for Creighton Prep, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-13.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Millard North is set to square off against their familiar foe Papillion-LaVista South at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Mustangs 3.8, the Titans 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Creighton Prep will face off against rival Bellevue West at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
