The United Lions will square off against the Ferndale Yellow Jackets at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Ferndale took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on United, who comes in off a win.
United will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Tuesday, then bounced right back against River Valley on Thursday. United walked away with a 12-7 win over River Valley.
Brendan James was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off seven hits. James was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, James Kordish was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Dmitri Worthington was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double.
Meanwhile, Ferndale was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of Blacklick Valley.
Connor Hrivnak was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season.
Ferndale's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for United, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
United's speedy runners might be the difference in Friday's contest. United has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Ferndale, though, as they've been averaging only 1.2 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will United continue to outrun the ball?
