Lutheran-Northeast has been on the road for two straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Bears at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Lutheran-Northeast blew the Chargers out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Mondaythe Chargers got their revenge. Lutheran-Northeast fell just short of the Chargers by a score of 51-48.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Josh Rojas, who scored 12 points along with five steals. He hasn't dropped below two steals for 15 straight games. Another player making a difference was Gavin Feddern, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds and six steals.
Meanwhile, Laurel-Concord-Coleridge's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They fell to Wausa 42-36. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Laurel-Concord-Coleridge has scored all season.
Laurel-Concord-Coleridge's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Gibson Roberts, who scored 18 points along with two steals, and Kolby Hansen who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Haisch, who scored five points.
Lutheran-Northeast's defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-3. As for Laurel-Concord-Coleridge, their loss dropped their record down to 11-8.
Tuesday's matchup is shaping up to be a masterclass in shooting: Lutheran-Northeast have been dynamite from deep this season, having made 53.8% of their threes per game. However, it's not like Laurel-Concord-Coleridge struggles in that department as they've made 40.5% of their threes this season. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Lutheran-Northeast suffered a grim 66-43 defeat to the Bears in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Thankfully for Lutheran-Northeast, Jake Rath (who dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
