4A Conference 23 recap November 19, 2013
Amherst County lost to Sherando 49-15 last week, the largest margin of any game. Deandre Kyle was a bright spot for the Lancers, as he ran for 60 yards and caught 1 pass for 15 yards in the defeat.
Handley led 4A Conference 23 in scoring this week after putting up 47 points on Handley.
Amherst County's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. D A Christian threw for 35 yards and Darius Wilson had 21 yards receiving. On the ground Kyle chipped in 60 yards. Kyle helped Amherst County's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 15 yards.
Kyle provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Cecil Phillips' team lost to the Warriors. Kyle's key target this week was Wilson, who caught 3 passes for 21 yards.
Wilson was the best receiver in the league this week as the Lancers fell to Sherando.
Amherst County's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Lancers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Christian has thrown for 599 yards and 7 touchdowns this season, while Wilson has 32 catches for 547 yards. Christian also leads the league in rushing with 880 yards.
Charlottesville led 4A Conference 23 in points allowed with 37.
