Hopefully Pflugerville Connally is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Panthers in Texas (the Cougars are ranked 255th, while the Panthers are ranked 646th).
Winning is just a little bit easier when you make five more threes than your opponent, a fact Pflugerville Connally proved on Tuesday. They snuck past Cedar Creek with a 48-42 win. The win made it back-to-back wins for Pflugerville Connally.
Pflugerville Connally's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mekhai Bryant, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. Bryant hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for four straight games. Jordan Wright was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Meanwhile, Pflugerville's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a 50-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of East View.
Pflugerville Connally is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-10 record this season. As for Pflugerville, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 12 of their last 14 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-21 record this season.
Pflugerville Connally was able to grind out a solid win over the Panthers in their previous matchup back in January, winning 44-37. The rematch might be a little tougher for Pflugerville Connally since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
